Nigerian Wedding Photography

So if you have ever had the chance to attend a Nigerian Wedding you know it is one of the most colorful ceremonies to witness. I photographed Chichi and Chinedu’s wedding in Atlanta Georgia. It was a nice day and a beautiful ceremony. Nigerian weddings are usually a mix of western culture and Nigerian tradition. This makes for a very unique ceremony and presents some incredible opportunities for photographs.

My favorite part of a Nigerian wedding is the wedding dance. This is because the bride and groom are the most relaxed at this part of the wedding. The wedding photographer in me yearns for the dance because I can capture some incredible moments when everyone is focused on dancing and not looking at the camera. Using my lighting technique I am able to produce beautiful colors from all the nice outfits. I don’t know the history of the wedding dance and how it came to be part of the wedding culture, however I know if you go to a Nigerian wedding without the wedding dance then it would be as if the wedding did not happen.

Chichi and Chinedu danced the evening away as they were showered with money and lots of affection. It was a beautiful wedding and glad I was ably to capture some beautiful wedding pictures for them. If you planning a Nigerian wedding in Austin, Houston, Dallas or any other destination for that matter, email or call Nana Aikins and PIICX Photography.
